The Theater Development Fund (TDF) is a not-for-profit organization that exists to support theatrical works of artistic merit and encourage diverse audiences to support the arts, by subsidizing ticket costs for eligible members. Retirees (older than 62) are eligible for discounts of up to 70% on a number of live theater and dance productions.
To register, go to https://secure2.tdf.org/join/. You will have to prove your eligibility by sending a copy of your drivers license along with a copy of an official pension or retirement letter from your former employer or NYSTRS. If you do not have a pension or retirement letter, TDF accepts a copy of a pension, retirement benefits or Social Security benefits pay stub, or a copy of your Medicare card.
