RC 10 sent four representatives to the ED 51-53 contiguous meeting for retirees, since we are part of ED 51. Jane Weihe, Dave Golden, Dennis Bouchard, and Bonnie Maxon attended these meetings on Oct. 3rd and 4th at NYSUT headquarters.

The main action at the meeting was a review of resolutions that will be approved to come before the NYSUT Representative Assembly in May. There were four resolutions presented and they went to a committee to be adjusted. The entire group in attendance approved them.

There was also a sharing of best practices that each RC shared and discussed. While the resolutions committee met, the RAC Subcommittee gave a report on the advantages of being a Union member of NYSUT. There was a presentation by Peter Kim, NYSUT Regional Political Organizer,

During dinner, Alan Lubin spoke on retiree issues, Rural Migrant Ministries and the importance of voting.

The next morning, Paul  Pecorale, NYSUT Second Vice President, gave an update of the finances of the Union. ED 51 also heard Dr. George Jolly discuss the single payer health insurance issue while ED 52 and 53 attended other meetings
