Andy Pallotta, Executive Vice President of NYSUT, has asked us to make an impact by supporting #EDWALK. His recent email states,
"New York's public schools have suffered through ten years of broken promises on school funding, and we simply cannot sit by and let it continue! To make our intentions clear, NYSUT is joining with over 80 other supporters of public education from all across the state to endorse the #Edwalk from New York City to Albany to demand that the State of New York meets its obligations to our students.
This walk started this past Sunday in New York City, others are biking from Buffalo to Albany, and you can support and follow the walkers by sharing on social media, with the ultimate goal of a big Capitol rally in Albany at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 11.
The final trial in the landmark CFE case was in October of 2006. Now, ten years later, our students are still owedd $3.9 billion in Foundation Aid.
It's time for full and fair funding for our public schools!"
