CULINARY INSTITUTE OF AMERICA ANNUAL SPRING TRIP

RC 10 will be enjoying a three course meal at the Caterina de'Medici Restaurant at the Culinary Institute of America, on June 6th. The restaurant offers authentic regional Italian cuisine in a Tuscan villa setting. You will think you traveled to Italy!

Due to requests, and the fact that it has been eight years since we scheduled a tour of the CIA complex, a one hour guided tour has been set up prior to our seating for lunch. This year we are doing this tour, instead of the Walkway over the Hudson.

The menu for our feast will include three courses. The first course will be "Asparagi E Riccia," an asparagus salad with frisée, egg and smoked bacon. The main coure will be "Spalla Di Vitello," roasted veal with mixed seasonal vegetables and potatoes. For dessert, we will have "Budino Al Fichi," armagnac-fig bread pudding with creme fraiche and candied nuts. Includes coffee, tea, or iced tea.

The afternoon Hudson River Mansion tour will be Frederick Vanderbilt's "Gilded Age" home and estate in Hyde Park. This will be a guided tour given by the National Park Service.

The bus pick-ups/drop-offs will be at three locations:

  • Glens Falls - Aviation Mall at 7 a.m., in front of Sears.
  • Saratoga - Exit 15 Park and Ride (Wilton Mall close to Dick's Sporting Goods, at 7:15 a.m.)
  • Albany - Crossgates Commons lower level, near PetSmart, at 8 a.m.

We should return to Albany around 5:30 p.m. The cost of the trip, including meal, transportation, fees, and tips, is:

  • $90.00 for Dues-paying members of RC-10
  • $95.00 for Nonmembers and guests
