The Wizard’s Wardrobe , a free, one-to-one literacy tutoring program, is growing and needs tutors to commit to one, preferably two days of tutoring after-school. This program serves elementary school-age children living in the South End of Albany between the hours of 2:00 and 5:30, Mon. - Thurs. Tutoring sessions last 1-1/2 hours. Students come twice a week.
We focus our tutoring on shared reading, literacy activities, and problem-solving through STEM activities. Our program has an imaginative theme through which we foster a love for learning. Our aim is to foster confidence, competence and creativity in every child by exposing them to the Magic of Reading.
