DAYS OF SERVICE: Retiree Council 10 members have been volunteering for Days of Service at the Ronald McDonald House for the past two years. The following dates have been reserved for RC 10 to participate in two Days of Service: Wednesday, February 25, 2026, from 9:30 to noon (no baking) and Tuesday, March 31, 2026, from 9:30 to noon (includes baking). If you are willing to serve or bake on the dates listed, please email Paula (pmjohannessen4@gmail.com) with the specific date you want to volunteer. She will be in touch as the dates get closer with registration information.
READ FOR THE RMHC: This program begins in February. School districts will read in either the month of February or March as a fundraiser for the RMHC. Volunteers are needed in March and April to pick up prizes from the RMH and deliver them to the participating school districts. Please contact Paula for the list of schools. If you are willing to deliver to one of these schools, please let her know the name(s) of the school(s). Delivery dates and times are flexible.
LOVE IS SERVED: Another activity involves preparing a meal for the residents on a designated evening. While many have come forward to help prepare the meal, there are members who would like to assist at the center but, for a variety of reasons, are unable to do so. Each meal feeds 25-30 people, providing a home-style dinner with a main entrée, veggies and/or salad, and dessert, with a cost ranging from $250-$300 per meal.
If the RMH is an organization you would like to support financially through RC 10 for the Love Is Served meal program, please donate through the PayPal link (https://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/9R7VDCLCAF824), OR send a check payable to Retiree Council 10 indicating RMH Meals on the memo line to: Mary Kruchinski, 11 Cedarcrest Drive, Saratoga, NY 12866
All donations, while not tax deductible, will go a long way in providing a Love Is Served meal for the guests who find it necessary to stay at the RMH.
