UNTAMED ICELAND, SEPTEMBER 8-20, 2019

Note: This trip, scheduled for September 7-19, 2019, filled so quickly that it was decided to offer a second trip that will take place on SEPTEMBER 8-20. The second trip is now filled as well.

Has Iceland been on your bucket list? Now is the time to sign up, as this exciting and fascinating country is quickly becoming a popular destination.

Join with other RC10 members in this small group, exclusive for RC10 (14 – 20 participants) thirteen-day adventure offered by Overseas Adventure Travel, (moderate activity level program). After two days exploring Reykjavik, we’ll head north to the Snaefellsness Peninsula – the entry point of Jule’s Verne’s Journey to the Center of the Earth, visit the home of Leif Ericson, stay at a lodge on an Icelandic horse farm, and visit the northern fjords near the Arctic Circle. We’ll visit the black castle lava formation and explore Godfoss Waterfall and Lake Myvatn. From there we will travel to the northern town of Dalvik to whale watch in the Arctic Sea, surprisingly good in September! Then we will fly back to Reykjavik (maximizing our travel time) and head south to explore the Golden Circle. We’ll visit the iconic Seljalandsfoss Waterfall, go off-roading on a Super Truck tour through black sandy landscapes and ATVing in volcanic landscapes. We’ll see geothermal power first hand and then, of course, relax at the thermal waters of the Blue Lagoon.

Note: this is a moderate activity level trip (3 out of 5)

Why travel in September? A simple answer: higher probability of seeing Northern Lights (and not having to go in the winter). Daylight has decreased (but there is still an average of 13 hrs of daylight per day Plus these additional benefits, it’s warmer than May and a degree or two cooler than June (average temperature about 45F- remember, this is not a beach vacation!) It will rain but September it is still considered a marginally dry month (.2” more rain than August), there is good arctic whale watching, and a less expensive time of year to travel (and yes, Iceland is an expensive place to visit but prices are only going to rise).

I have taken time to research many tour companies for Iceland trips, and believe that this program gives you the best value for your money. And remember, this is a small group of 20 or less reserved exclusively for RC10 ( a great group to travel with!!). There
are no optional tours to pay for, you only have one gratuity, and the days are busy but there are restful evenings.

See the trip flyer and pre-registration forms linked below.
