Retiree Council 10 members have been volunteering at the Albany Ronald McDonald House in various capacities over the past two years. One of these activities, Love Is Served Dinner, involves preparing a meal for the 25-30 residents on a designated evening.

While many have come forward to help prepare the meal, there are members who would like to assist at the center but, for a variety of reasons, are unable to do so. Each meal feeds 25-30 people, providing a home-style dinner with a main entrée, veggies and/or salad and dessert, with a

Over the past year, NYSUT members have turned out in big numbers to rally in all corners of the state to Fix Tier 6. Because of our ongoing advocacy, we’ve secured historic wins on our way to pension fairness: We reduced vesting from 10 to 5 years, protecting pensions for 85,000 Tier 6 members. We also lowered the Final Average Salary calculation from 5 to 3 years, the most significant pension reform in 20 years!

RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE RADIOTHON

JANUARY 23 AND 24, 2025

VOLUNTEERS ARE STILL NEEDED

Join us for the 25th annual Ronald McDonald House Radiothon. During this special two-day event, Albany Broadcasting Radio stations will be broadcasting live, sharing interviews with Ronald McDonald House families and staff, and encouraging the community to donate to support Ronald McDonald House Programs. We will also be present at Crossgates Mall on Saturday, the 24th to collect donations from shoppers.

You can sign up to help in two ways:

·       As a Phone Bank Volunteer, you are needed to help answer phones, record donations and thank donors.

·       As a Crossgates Mall Representative, you would be stationed at a Ronald McDonald House table inside Crossgates Mall with a few volunteers to ask for donations and thank the shoppers that give. This is a great way to volunteer with your children or grandchildren. Just contact Tina Woodward to register your little ones to be with you.
